CITY OF MADISON CULTURAL PLAN

Help determine Madison's Cultural Future

The Madison Arts Commission is in the early stages of creating a citywide Cultural Plan for Madison. Cultural planning will enable us to take stock of our community's arts and cultural assets, needs, opportunities, and resources, and establish a map for the future. The planning process will be inclusive to ensure that all viewpoints are represented. Members of the public, artists, representatives of arts and cultural groups, city officials, business owners, students, and other stakeholder groups will be invited to participate. Throughout the planning process, "Culture" is defined in the broadest sense of the term, including fine arts, crafts, heritage, humanities, and all manners of ethnically diverse cultural expressions. The Plan itself will contain short, medium, and long-term goals and objectives for the City of Madison relating to the further development of the cultural communities in the City and the accomplishment of the City’s broader goals.
