This July, the capitol square had a colorful addition. Artists embellished the square's seven bus shelters as part of Destination, A Madison Arts Commission BLINK Temporary Public Art Project. Local artist Melanie Kehoss organized and participated in this creative farewell to the shelters, which were scheduled for demolition at the end of July. The jury selected artists: Nina Bednarsky, Sean Bodley, Craig Grabhorn, Nick Hartley, Darryl Jensen, Melanie Kehoss, and John Riepenhoff. The selected artists had one day, Sunday, July 1, to complete their artwork, and the public had one month to enjoy it. On Saturday, July 21, 1:00 - 3:00 pm, artists were stationed at their shelters available for questions and comments during a public walk through.
