Capitol Square, Madison, WI; County: Dane
East Washington Ave. and Pinckney St.
West Washington Ave. and Carroll St.
Wisconsin Ave. and Mifflin St.
Each piece reflects the Classical and Beaux Arts style of the Capitol, while offering a playful element with a curved water basin and water wall at the E. Washington and W. Washington fountains. Made of bronze and red granite, the pieces will function equally well in winter months, without water flowing.
Sven Schunemann says, "My initial training as a sculptor provided me with not only the physical skills to sculpt, but with the practice in observing details and incorporating them into my work and world view." He has brought his European experience and principles to his work in the U.S. establishing Flow Forms American, Inc, as part of his life's work, i.e., to promote a world of healthy water.
