Cypress Spray Park: One-Two-Three-Go!

Installed Spring 2008 at Cypress Spray Park (Magnolia Lane & Cypress Way adjacent Lincoln Elementary Schools)
The Madison Parks Department built the first Spray Park in Madison in the summer of 2007 and requested the Madison Arts Commission add an enhancement to the park by commissioning an artist to create a site specific project for the lot. Through an extensive community based selection process the Madison Arts Commission chose Melanie Kehoss to create these lively silhouette forms of children-at-play. The artist also conducted workshops with area children at the Boys & Girls Club and at neighboring Lincoln Elementary School. The unveiling included about 60 Lincoln students carrying signs that read, "Community," & "Thank You Madison," in several languages including Hmong and Spanish.
