The acclaimed Dallas Children’s Theater presents Karen Abbott’s stage adaptation of John Steptoe’s Caldecott Award–winning Cinderella tale. A great African king is looking for a wife, but only the most worthy and beautiful maidens in the land are invited to meet him. Mufaro’s two daughters, possessing very different dispositions, journey for half a day across a river to go before the king. Which daughter is more likely to capture the king’s attention? Featuring traditional African chants and songs, this show celebrates goodness, generosity and love. Time magazine named this troupe one of the five best children’s theater companies in the United States.
