Art Garfunkel’s sweeter-than-honey countertenor voice has left an indelible mark on the music world, both as a solo artist and as half of the immortal duo Simon & Garfunkel. With old partner Paul Simon, Garfunkel has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Grammy and membership in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for a body of work that includes such classics as “Mrs. Robinson,” “The Sound of Silence” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” As a solo performer, Garfunkel—also a successful film actor and published poet—brings to his material a unique sincerity and tenderness that few vocalists have ever been able to equal.
