If it’s possible for classical music to have rock stars, then the Ahn Trio certainly qualifies. Korean-born, Juilliard-educated sisters Maria, Lucia and Angella have been redefining the art and architecture of chamber music, breathing new life into the piano trio repertoire with commissioned works from some of today’s most visionary composers. The Ahn Trio has both the chops and the style to win over new fans as well as the stodgiest of music buffs, as they apply what the Seattle Times called “a modernist, fusion sensibility that is perfect for our age.”
