MadiSUN Program
The MadiSUN Solar Energy Program

The MadiSUN Solar Energy Program is a new program launched by the City of Madison to promote solar for homes and solar for businesses in Madison. The solar program's goal is to double the number of solar electric and solar hot water installations in the city by 2011 by providing residents and businesses with free consultation with a "solar agent." The MadiSUN solar agent provides technical expertise and answers questions regarding design, permitting and rebate programs for solar. MadiSUN also provides technical assistance to solar contractors and installers in the city. The city of Madison, along with Madison Gas and Electric, Focus on Energy and UW Extension, are working on this project for the next two years. The MadiSUN solar program is funded in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy through its Solar America Cities program.
