The MadiSUN Solar Energy Program is the City of Madison's program to promote solar for homes and businesses in Madison. MadiSUN activities include the following:
Quick Solar Assessment - The Solarmap is an interactive tool that allows users to determine their solar potential and the size and cost for solar systems if they have adequate solar potential. It also includes a solar calculator that was designed to estimate the cost or savings to go solar based on up-to-date incentives and average costs.
To include your existing system on the map, please send an email to solar@cityofmadison.com. Include a picture of the system and provide the address, name of the system (call it the "Smith Solar System" if you like), the installation year and the installed size (kW for PV systems, ft2 collector area for solar thermal systems).
Free Solar Consultation - The Solar Agent helps residents and businesses with their solar system and provides free advice on technical, design, permitting, and rebate issues/programs for solar. If you need assistance please send an email with the property address to solar@cityofmadison.com or call (608) 243-0586. Be aware that the service is free for properties in the City of Madison only. Properties in the Town of Madison and other communities are not eligible for the free service.
