Financial and Economic Incentives

Due to financial incentives, household and businesses investments in solar PV in the US increased by 37 percent in annual installations over 2008 for a total economic impact of 17,000 new jobs in 2009.

• Federal Tax Credit – Covers up to 30% of the system cost
• Focus on Energy Incentive – FOE pays up to 35% of the system cost
• Receive credit on your utility bills for the extra electricity you produce – MG&E pays up to $.25 per kWh
• Solar systems are exempt from property tax
• The return on investment is typically quicker than with residential systems
