Members of the public are invited to the Sustainable Madison Committee's June 19 meeting to hear about an exciting project in New Berlin, WI, where every home incorporates solar on roof.
The talk presented by Matt Neumann, from Neumann Companies, and Kirk Kindred, from SunVest Solar, will focus on the creation of Wisconsin’s first Net Zero Community.
Date/Time: Monday June 19, 2017 at 4:30 p.m.
Location: City-County Building, Room 351, 210 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
Developed by Neumann Companies, the home sites at Red Fox Crossing, located on the southwest corner of S. Sunny Slope Road and W. Grange Avenue in New Berlin, will be oriented to fully capture the solar energy available. Tim O’Brien Homes will design and construct the solar-ready houses, and SunVest Solar will design and install each solar system, ranging from six to eight kilowatts. When fully built out, Red Fox Crossing will have between 200 and 270 kilowatts of behind-the-meter solar capacity in operation. It is on a path to become Wisconsin’s first net zero (electricity) community.
