Talking Spirits: Forest Hill Cemetery Tour

Join us on Sunday October 12th for the sixteenth-annual Talking Spirits Cemetery Tour, held at the beautiful Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison. On this 90 minute walking tour, local actors will portray important Civil War-era figures buried at Forest Hill.  This year’s tour features:
Ella Bresee, daughter of a Wisconsin Civil War soldier, she was later known as the “Grand Old Lady of Memorial Days” for her work caring for the gravesites of soldiers as well as supporting the home front efforts during WWI and WWII. 
Col. Henry Harnden of the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry, who took part in the Capture of Jefferson Davis at the end of the war.
Col. John Jefferson of the 8th Wisconsin Infantry and grandson of President Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings.
James Jackson who served as a Hospital Steward with the 8th Wisconsin.

Tours leave every 20 minutes from 12pm through 4pm.   In the event of inclement weather, be sure to check back at for important information about this program.
Adult admission is $5; Children are $2.

 RAIN DATE: In the event of inclement weather, a rain date is tentatively scheduled for Sunday October 19th. The decision to postpone due to weather will be made by 10am on October 12th and an announcement will be posted on the WVM's FacebookTwitter and here:
NOTE:  Unfortunately golf carts will not be available this year to escort those who are unable to walk the tour. Sorry for the inconvenience.
