YWCA Moxie Pre-Conference

Date & Time:
Wednesday, May 28, 2014 - 6:30pm to 8:00pm

Join YWCA for a special free screening of Makers, presented in collaboration with Wisconsin Public Television's Wisconsin Women Making History Project. This film reviews the story of how women have helped shape America over the last 50 years through one of the most sweeping social revolutions in our country’s history, in pursuit of their rights to a full and fair share of political power, economic opportunity and personal autonomy. After the screening, Nina Valeo Cooke will facilitate a discussion about this moving film. Nina is the Undergraduate Advisor and the Director of the Internship Program for the University of Wisconsin–Madison Department of Gender and Women's Studies, and a board member at large of the Wisconsin Women's Network. This pre-conference is part of the YWCA Moxie Conference, taking place on May 29, 2014, at Monona Terrace.
