Getting My Head Examined

My head was examined this morning, and nothing was found. This comes as little surprise to many of you, but I'm taking it as very good news.
The occasion for the examination with the Eighth Annual Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week screenings at the UW Hospital and Clinics. My screening took all of five minutes - and it only took that long because I chatted with the doctor. It was easy and painless, and I got a clean bill of health at least as far as cancer in my head and neck. I'm told that there are 45,000 cases of new head and neck cancer every year and, like all cancers, early detection is important in fighting it successfully.
So, take the little time it takes to get screened. Get your head examined. And, if like me, they find nothing, go ahead and celebrate.
