Progress on the Multicultural Center

In an earlier blog about the unexpected closing of the Catholic Multicultural Center, I wrote that I thought and hoped that the Catholic community would respond to the challenge. It appears that that's exactly what's happening. I was happy to learn over the weekend that parishioners in Catholic parishes around the city are responding. Now an organized effort is getting together under the leadership of Queen of Peace parishioners. I also want to extend thanks to new Ald. Steve King, who as a parishioner at St. Maria Goretti, is also working on this issue. More meetings are planned this week and I've asked Community Development Director Bill Clingan to continue to represent the city.
