Facebook to the Rescue

November 12, 2010 3:59 PM

A whole grassroots movement has sprung up to save high speed rail in Wisconsin. This is the real thing, genuine natural grassroots, not the Astroturf movements that are sometimes backed by manipulators.

Almost overnight over 6,000 people have joined the Save the Train page on Face Book. I just signed up myself and you can too at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-the-Train-Wisconsin/110155452384203.

In addition, U.S. DOT Secretary Ray La Hood's Face Book page is filled with messages from Wisconsin. You can go there at http://www.facebook.com/sec.lahood.

I've been working the phones talking to editorial boards, current and former federal and state officials, business leaders and others. But none of this will be successful without popular support for the project. So, if you've got some time this weekend, please log on and make sure your voice gets heard.
