Solstice & the Solar Map

Even on the shortest day of the year and the first day of winter there's potential to produce solar energy on your home or business. Now there's an easy tool that you can use to assess the suitability of your property for a solar installation. You can access this web-based tool at www.madisun.org.
This Solar Map can quickly identify solar potential for any property in Madison. You can estimate potential energy production and get information about rebates, tax credits and grants. This is another step in the MadiSun program, which started a few years ago. This U.S. Department of Energy program provides a "solar agent," Larry Walker, who can provide technical assistance and advice on technical, design, permitting and rebate programs for solar power systems.
Currently, there are about 100 solar installations on homes and businesses in Madison, but there's potential for a lot more. Check out the Solar Map to see if it makes sense for you.
