Metro Transit to Discontinue Current Audible Turn Signal Test - As part of its continuous efforts to improve safety, Metro Transit has been testing audible turn signals on its fixed-route buses. Public testimony on Wednesday June 10 at the Madison Transit and Parking Commission meeting and additional feedback received has prompted Metro to discontinue its current test of these signals.

ADA Transit Subcommittee to the Transit & Parking Commission - This committee has been struggling with quorum. The committee has been meeting every other month. Madison Ordinance Section 3.14(4)(k) - Advisory to the Transit and Parking Commission. It is the duty of the Subcommittee to monitor compliance by Metro Transit, the City's transit utility, in providing complementary para transit and transit service in the Metro Transit service area. We are looking for  interested individuals to serve on this important committee.

VERONA ROAD PROJECT OPEN HOUSE - An open house meeting will be held next week to discuss design and construction activities for the Verona Road (US 18/151) reconstruction project, from the Beltline to County PD (McKee Road) and the Beltline, between Whitney Way and Seminole Highway.
When: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 25
No formal presentation is scheduled; stop by at your convenience.
Where: City of Fitchburg Fire Station No. 2 
             5415 King James Way, Fitchburg

Maps and exhibits showing the proposed improvements will be on display, and eventually posted on the Verona Road Project website, under the Resources tab and Public Materials. Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.

Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - Grand Opening Meadowridge Library and Theresa Terrace Neighborhood Center.  5:30-7:30 p.m. Mayor Soglin will attend the Grand Opening celebration.

Saturday, June 20, 2015 - Elver Park, 9:00 a.m.  Douglas M. Pink 5k for Glioblastoma Research. All money raised is for the National Brain Tumor Society. Registration is on or in person on the day of the race. This is a fun run for all abilities. Additional information contact Erin Pink

Saturday, June 20, Olin Park, 1125 Olin Turville Park, 11:00 a.m. Parade, Noon-6:00 p.m. Food, activities, vendors.
