This is the time that Mayor Soglin begins to formulate his Executive Operating Budget for 2016. Madison continues to be faced with the constraints of limited revenue options, levy limits and continuing cost pressures for services, calling on the city to be more strategic in determining how resources are allocated. The Mayor is asking the community to take part in this community conversation. This year's Communiyu Conversation will take place Tuesday, July 14, Central Library from 6:00-7:30. An interactive session will be focused on prioritizing spending to ensure budget decisions are consistent with achieving our goals for Madison.

BOARD of PARK COMMISSIONERS - Wednesday, July 15, 6:30 p.m., Goodman Maintenance Facility, 1402 Wingra Creek Pkway.

Authorizing a pilot program to extend the dogs in parks policy to include additional locations where dogs are allowed within designated parks as authorized by Madison General Ordiance 8.19(1)(a)(3). Overall, a large amount of change in the actual number of dogs is not expected. In most parks they are there routinely. The goals of the pilot are to evaluate if there is a change in park usage and/or conditions. The hope is by focusing on the dog owners need to be responsible in order to preserve such access that we can get a lot of self enforced positive behavior. Targeted enforcement efforts will be made to make sure appropriate steps are taken in the event anyone is found to be out if compliance. Eric M. Knapp, Madison Parks Superintendent.
