2017 City Budget Amendments and Demetral Park Adult Fitness Equipment

November 11, 2016 3:24 PM

2017 City Budget Council Amendments out

The Operating and Capital Budget amendments that will be discussed by the Council next Monday, November 14 are now public.

I will provide shortly my usual District 12 analysis, but I wanted to get you access as soon as possible.

Madison Public Market Amendments

Three of the Capital Budget amendments are about the proposed Madison Public Market.

#2: I introduced an amendment to provide comfort to the Common Council that certain things will need to be done before final approval;

#3: Alder Eskrich has proposed moving the funding from 2017 to 2018 thus delaying the opening for at least a year;

#4: Alder Eskrich has proposed eliminating entirely the Public Market from the future city budgets.

There are many tremendous economic development opportunities created by the Madison Public Market for the3 entire region, not just our North/Eastside neighborhoods.

Please email all alders at allalders@cityofmadison.com to express any comments that you might have about these or any of the amendments.

Demetral Park Adult Fitness Equipment

Demetral Equipment

On November 9, residents meet to discuss the opportunity to add adult Fitness Equipment at Demetral Park. After some discussion they selected a location in the park next to the softball fields and an equipment vendor.

If you would like to know more information about this project, including additional notes from the meeting, please see the city's website
