Neighborhod Meeting: County's Purchase of Duplex & Nehemiah Re-Entry Housing

UPDATE: Dane County will be purchasing property at 2310-2312 Post Road and leasing the duplex to Nehemiah Development Reentry Program to provide re-entry housing for persons have been previously incarcerated. Nehemiah will be responsible for all management and maintenance of the building. The lease is for 10 years with two 5-year extensions.
This property is not a halfway house. Nehemiah's re-entry program provides affordable housing for individuals that have obstacles in securing housing due to their past criminal record. The majority of individuals in this program have employment. Each individual will enter into a lease agreement with Nehemiah and have access to wrap around services provided by Nehemiah (for example: housing, employment, mentoring, and advocacy). There will be random check-ins at this property. In addition, Nehemiah will hold regular house meetings with the tenants. This property will house up to 5 males. Nehemiah's program for this property will not accept sex offenders.
Dane County Supervisor Richard Kilmer, Dane County Supervisor Dorothy Krause, Charles (Chuck) Hicklin, Dane County Controller, Anthony Cooper, Sr., Nehemiah Director of Reentry Services, Rich Henderson, Nehemiah Executive Manager, Captain John Patterson, and I will be in attendance at the neighborhood meeting.

- 2016 Resolution 157 - Authorizing the purchase of 2310-2312 Post Road and approval of the lease of the property to Nehemiah will be heard at the Personnel and Finance Meeting on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 5:30 pm, City County Building – 210 Martin Luther King Blvd., Room 351.
- Final approval of 2016 Resolution 157 will be at the Dane County Board meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 6:00 pm, City County Building – 210 Martin Luther King Blvd., Room 201
