Last and Final Yard-Waste Pick-up!

May 11, 2018 2:48 PM

Final Yard Waste Round Starts May 14

The Streets Division will perform one more curbside yard waste collection round. Every resident in Madison will have one final opportunity to have yard waste collected from the curb this spring.

The final round will begin on Monday, May 14.

On May 14, crews will begin collecting yard waste from the area of the city that receives Monday refuse collection. After each street within that district receives their final collection opportunity, collection crews will rotate into the Tuesday district and provide each street with their final collection opportunity.  The Tuesday district will be followed by the Wednesday district and then concluding with the Thursday and Friday districts.

Curbside yard waste pickup will not be performed again this year until the start of the autumn leaf collection season.

Before placing yard waste to the curb for pickup, go to and click the Pickup Schedule button.

If your neighborhood is marked "Pickup Pending" on the map, place your yard waste out for collection as soon as possible because crews will be around soon.

If your neighborhood is marked "Crews Working," it may be too late to take advantage of the collection round as crews may have already serviced your neighborhood, so residents should instead take the yard waste to a drop-off site.

If your neighborhood is marked "Season Over," do not place yard waste to the curb, and instead take it to a drop-off site. The drop-off site is located at 4602 Sycamore Ave. on the east side. The site is open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm seven days a week, and until 8:00pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  These hours will remain in effect until Sunday, December 2.

Be sure to check the pickup schedule on the website regularly so this final chance for curbside pickup is not missed. The map is updated daily when crews are deployed.

For additional information regarding yard waste and collection guidelines, residents can visit, call the yard waste hotline at 608-267-2088, or contact the Streets Division office at 608-246-4532.
