FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

MADISON PARKS FOUNDATION'S EVENTS CELEBRATES 121 YEARS OF MADISON PARKS

From the time Madison's first park, Tenney Park, was developed in the early 1900s to the splash parks at Elver and Reindahl parks making their debut this summer, Madison residents and visitors have been uniquely blessed with beautiful, well maintained, free and accessible parks and open spaces. The Madison Parks Foundation will mark the 120th anniversary of the Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association, the private, citizen-led effort to establish leisure and recreation activities for all to enjoy, with two upcoming public events. The celebration of Madison's robust park system of 5,500 acres of park land, 266 parks and 176 playgrounds will feature live music, food and drink, ice cream and golf and highlights two of the city's finest outdoor amenities--an historic sporting arena and a golf course.
