The week of October 31 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Madison Local Food Committee – Market Ready RFP Review Subcommittee, Common Council – Discussion, the Common Council, the Board of Public Works, the Madison Local Food Committee and the Madison Police Department Policy & Procedure Review Ad Hoc Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

When the MarketReady RFP Review Subcommittee considers the following item, it may go into closed session pursuant to Section 19.85(1)(e), Wisconsin Statutes, which reads as follows: Deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. If the MarketReady RFP Review Subcommittee does convene in closed session as described above, upon completion of the closed session, notice is hereby given that it may reconvene in open session to consider the following items without waiting 12 hours, pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes, Section 19.85(2).

Finance Department Presentation:  Strategic management from Planning to Action & "What Works Cities Program".

Finance Department staff will provide an update regarding steps the City has taken to transition to a data driven culture.

The presentation will include a discussion surrounding strategic management, including efforts to launch outcome budgeting. The presentation will also include an overview on the city's involvement in the Bloomberg Philanthropies' "What Works Cities" program.

Launched by Bloomberg Philanthropies in April 2015, What Works Cities is a national initiative to help 100 mid-sized American cities enhance their use of data and evidence to improve services, inform local decision-making and engage residents.
