The week of April 28 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Plan Commission, Common Council, and the Emerson East-Eken Park-Yahara Ad Hoc Neighborhood Steering Committee. The agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particularly interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Agenda item 6

Creating Section 28.022 -- 00116 of the Madison General Ordinances to change the zoning of property located at 2046-2050 East Johnson Street, 12th Aldermanic District, from NMX (Neighborhood Mixed-Use) District to PD (Planned Development) District to convert an auto repair facility into a "tiny house" workshop and residential community for 9 units, with retail space and accessory gardens and greenhouse.

This is the "tiny house" proposal in the Alder district just to the east of district 2. You can find the staff report at the link above. They are supportive of the proposal.

Approving the 2014 Neighborhood Grant Program recommendations made by the Staff Review Team and authorizing the Planning Division Director, Finance Director and City Attorney to execute grant agreements on behalf of the City.

This includes the grant funding for the "Turn on Johnson" campaign to develop a marketing plan to support businesses during the E. Johnson St reconstruction.

SUBSTITUTE - Amending the 2014 Parks Division Operating Budget by appropriating $365,000 from the Contingent Reserve to provide additional resources for Emerald Ash Borer mitigation.

SUBSTITUTE - Amending the 2014 Parks Division Capital Budget to provide additional resources for replacement of ash trees in City parks.

Agenda item 58

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a development agreement to fund a $4,417,000 Tax Incremental Finance Loan to The Gebhardt Galaxie, LLC to assist in the development of a housing and commercial redevelopment project located at the north 800 Block of East Washington Avenue in TID #36 (Capitol Gateway).

Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Breese Stevens Field Synthetic Turf - 2014.

This agenda item contains the incorrect link for this project. I contacted city staff and expect the link to be corrected Monday morning. To access it at that time, go to the Common Council agenda and click on the link next to agenda item 76.
