Fresh Water Available at No Charge During Saturday's Rhythm and Booms

Madison Mayor Paul Soglin along with officials from Madison Festivals Inc. and Madison Water Utility announced today that Madison Water Utility will be bringing its Water Wagon to Saturday's Rhythm and Booms event at Lake Monona. The Water Wagon, which was designed and built by utility staff, will allow people to refill their reusable water bottles during the event. There will also be cups on hand for those without bottles.
People planning to watch Rhythm and Booms from Madison's downtown area are encouraged to bring empty water bottles to fill at the Water Wagon. Utility officials are working to determine the best location for the wagon, which will be central to prime viewing area for the fireworks.
"I am very pleased that Madison Festivals Inc and Water Utility have arranged to have the Water Wagon on site, Saturday," said Mayor Soglin. "Access to free water is not only a health concern but one of equity. This additional resource will contribute to Rhythm and Booms being a fun and safe event for everyone."
Event organizers request that attendees either bring empty water bottles to fill on site or sealed water bottles.
