The week of April 6 has items of possible interest to residents of district 2 at the Board of Public Works, the Urban Design Commission, the Transit and Parking Commission, the Board of Park Commissioners and the Emerson East-Eken Park-Yahara Neighborhood Plan Steering Committee. The city meeting agenda items are open for testimony from the public should you be interested in weighing in.  I also appreciate hearing from you on any items on which you have a particular interest or concern so please send me an email or give me a call.

Also, committees and commissions have an opportunity at the beginning of each agenda for Public Comment on items not on the agenda.  If you have something you want to share with a committee or commission, you can use the Public Comment time to do so.

Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Tenney Lagoon Shoreline Native Vegetation Installation and Maintenance. This project is for vegetative restoration related to shoreline reconstruction. Estimated cost of this work is $250,000.

Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for Tenney Lagoon Shoreline Restoration and Tenney Park (E. Johnson St.) Bike Path project. (2nd AD)

The shoreline restoration portion will consist of stabilizing approximately 7000 linear feet of shoreline along the lagoon. Stabilization will be achieved using primarily vegetated buffers and coir log revetment. The plan includes shoreline access points for both pedestrian and ice maintenance vehicles.

This project also includes improvements to the bike path running parallel to E Johnson St. The existing 8' bike path surface will be replaced with a 10' surface, lighting will be added to the southwest half, and the sidewalk from Marston St to Baldwin St will be widened to provide a suitable bike and pedestrian path connection to existing facilities.

Estimated cost of this project is $947,970.78.
