Updates on traffic signals and other happenings

April 12, 2018 6:25 PM

Hi Neighbors,

A few updates for you this evening-

It was my pleasure to join the North Star Park Neighborhood Association for their annual meeting yesterday evening. We spoke about parks, streets, crime, and open records laws, and the Milwaukee Street Bridge. It was a great turnout and it was an honor to address the large group there. If you live in that neighborhood but were unable to join us last night and have questions or concerns, please reach out and share those with me.

For those of you who drive on Sprecher Road, did you notice our new addition this week? At northbound and southbound points at the Milwaukee Street and Sprecher Road we now have a flashing signal on our stop signs. Thank you to those of you who reached out to me to suggest an additional notice at that intersection, I'm glad we were able to get that done.

In news from our Rolling Meadows Neighborhood, the Rolling Meadow Neighborhood Association is running a food drive at MSCR through the end of May. If your budget allows for it, please drop off canned vegetables, canned tuna or salmon, beans, lentils, soup, and any nutrient dense food at MSCR during business hours. Join me in thanking the RMNA for holding this food drive and in contributing whatever you can to their efforts.

After months of training and preparation, I will be competing in Strongman competition in California this weekend. Murphy's Law would suggest that we will thus have a tornado, a mass animal breakout from the zoo, and locusts this weekend. Possibly all 3. In all seriousness, my colleague Alder Matt Phair has agreed to serve as backup while I am out of town. In the extremely unlikely event of an urgent situation, he will provide updates. So if you see something from him, that's why.

Thank you for your attention, I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather this evening
