GET READY FOR THE HEALTH INSURANCE MARKETPLACE

October 18, 2013 12:15 PM

The Affordable Care Act will make it possible for many Dane County residents who have not been able to get or afford good health insurance, to get that coverage. Under this law, people cannot be turned down because of health problems that they already have.
•To have coverage as of January 1st, you must sign up between October 1st and December 15th.
•Sign up and pay your premium before February 15 to make sure that you are covered by the March 31 enrollment deadline and avoid a tax penalty.
•You must sign up by the end of next March to have coverage in 2014.
•The sooner you enroll, the better!
