Update: Next Door Brewing Liquor License Application

April 25, 2013 11:10 AM

The ALRC granted the license for Next Door Brewing on April 24, 2013 with the following conditions that the applicant accepted: meet the definition of a restaurant and have food available at all times, no outdoor seating, no Entertainment license, strongly encourage applicant to seek shared parking options with neighboring property owners, and provide a sales report to the ALRC 6 months after business opens showing food/alcohol percentages.

The ALRC accepted the proposed hours in the application Sun-Thurs 11a-11p and Fri-Sat 11a-12a.

Next Door Brewing will pay for and install an 8' privacy fence along the rear of the property based on Zoning code requirements for restaurants.

The applicants are working with a consultant to develop their menu and said they intend to provide 8-10 appetizers and 4-5 sandwiches/small entrees.

Also per discussions with Zoning, the application for an outdoor patio shown on the site plan was withdrawn because it blocked the egress to parcel. NDB could apply for outdoor seating in the future, location TBD,  but would need to go through a two step public review process: apply for change of licensed premises and change of licensed conditions at ALRC; and; apply for a conditional use permit at Plan Commission to allow outdoor seating area.

The applicant promises to provide parking lot lighting that will exceed city standards.

Next Door Brewing was unable to secure a formal arrangement with St. Bernards Church for shared parking but will continue to look for shared parking opportunities with neighboring property owners.
