The City of Madison has been exploring options for a Public Market for several years.  The following are results from previous public market planning efforts.  Some of the information and analysis in these previous documents may be relevant and useful as background. However, their conclusions do not necessarily represent the current vision for the project.

The City of Madison Local Food Committee has been meeting since May 2012 with a mission to, "determine the best ways to enhance the local/regional food economy, address the needs of local growers and producers, and identify the best strategies and location for a public market that will meet these goals." Working with City staff, the Local Food Committee will oversee the consultant selection process and the development of the business plan. The following documents have been created by city staff and the committee over the last year.
