MONONA TERRACE

If you enjoy Monona Terrace and its unique Frank Lloyd Wright design, share your enthusiasm with others as a volunteer tour guide. You'll provide tours for a variety of visitors, including school groups, conference attendees and the general public. Guides are expected to give at least two tours per month upon completion of 18 hours of training. Contact Heather Sabin, Tourism Coordinator, at (608) 261-4015 or hsabin@mononaterrace.com for more information.

OLBRICH GARDENS

Olbrich Botanical Gardens is home to twelve beautiful outdoor gardens and a tropical Conservatory. Educational classes and special events are offered year round. Volunteers partner with staff to keep the gardens beds beautiful, interact with visitors who want to learn about the world of plants, host special events, and assist in the Visitor Center.

PARKS DIVISION

Madison has over 260 parks, conservation areas, beaches and the award-winning Goodman Pool. Volunteers are an important component in maintaining our nationally recognized park system. Most opportunities are on the weekends, are monthly or one-time projects led by qualified staff or Friends Groups, and most are appropriate for small groups. There are opportunities for individuals at Goodman Pool throughout the summer.

SENIOR CENTER

The Madison Senior Center promotes successful aging by providing activities and programs for older adults from the greater Madison area. Volunteers of all ages serve in varied capacities, ranging from occasional special events to recurrent assignments. Volunteers may serve older adults or may work side-by-side with older adults here and in the community.

We feature many intergenerational activities. Scheduled volunteer hours are business hours on weekdays with occasional evening and weekend opportunities. Levels of involvement range from leadership to followship options, and the Volunteer Coordinator can assess and design chances for individual projects. Current needs include: event hosts, receptionists, student mentors and more. For information call Lynne at 267-2344 or visit www.VolunteerYourTime.org or at the Madison Senior Center
