Work on the project for the week of August 25th, 2014:
 

  • Asphalt surface paving operations continue next week (8pm-6am).  The plan has been revised due to the wet weather this week:
    • Friday night: Northbound Junction right lanes and Southbound Junction right lanes. Watts will be closed during the overnight hours.  Restrictions of access to Applewood and driveways on the east side of Junction
    • Sunday night: Eastbound Mineral Point Road median lanes. Median crossings of Mineral Point at the Jug Handle, Junction and Commerce will be closed during paving operations.
    • Monday night: Jug Handle, Applewood, Watts, Commerce.  Restrictions of access to these roadways. The Jug Handle will be closed during paving operations.
    • Tuesday night: Eastbound Mineral Point Road right lanes. Jug Handle, Junction and Commerce will each be closed for a few hours.
  • Work on Junction Road includes electrical, landscaping and signing, asphalt paving and pavement marking
  • Work on Mineral Point Road includes electrical, landscaping and signing, asphalt paving and pavement marking
  • Work on the Jug Handle: work on new pedestrian bridges within the Jug Handle

 
 Traffic Impacts
 

  • During paving operations, turning movements will be restricted during overnight hours according to the work status stated above. Traffic will be reduced to one lane during overnight hours.
  • Watts Road is reduced to one lane in each direction
  • Eastbound and Westbound Mineral Point Road is 2-lanes
  • Junction Road is 1-lane in each direction from the Valley View Roundabout to Mineral Point Road and 2-lanes north of Mineral Point Road.
  • Single lane closures are possible between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM
CTH M Corridor Map

The County Highway M corridor is currently under study with the intent to reconstruct the roadway with an urban cross section, including medians, bike lanes and sidewalks.
