Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 7, Raymond P. Cattell Inc. will begin off peak lane closures on University Avenue between Midvale Boulevard and Segoe Road in order to install underground utilities and relocate curbs.
The eastbound closures will last from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day Monday to Friday.
The westbound closures will last from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day Monday to Friday.
Weekend closures can be expected periodically throughout the project reducing University Avenue to one thru lane for painting and repaving purposes.
Off-peak lane closures are expected to last until July 3, 2018.
Sidewalk will remain open as much as possible throughout the project.
The proposed project will install new traffic signals at the Hilldale Way, Maple Terrace, and University Avenue intersection. The new signal will provide protected left-turns from University Avenue onto Maple Terrace and Hilldale Way as well as a protected pedestrian crossing of University Avenue. This intersection has had a high crash history over the past five years, which warrants the installation of a traffic signal and protected pedestrian crossing to improve safety. A detailed layout of the planned intersection can be found here: Intersection Plan
