UPDATE 4/18/17 - Committee meetings for proposed testing of counter-flow bike lane scheduled. See details below.
This project will involve the replacement of pavement, city utilities, curb and gutter, and sidewalk on West Wilson Street from Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. to South Henry Street. The City is currently exploring options for incorporating improved bicycle facilities into the project.
The project is expected to last approximately 3 months beginning in spring of 2018.
Public Information Meetings:
The City plans to conduct a test of a counter-flow bike lane on Wilson St. by temporarily removing the parking on the south side of Wilson St. The test would take place on East & West Wilson St. from King St. to S. Hamilton St. This proposed test will be presented to the Pedestrian, Bicycle and Motor Vehicle Commission on Tuesday, April 25 at 5:00PM in Room 201 of the City-County Building. This proposed test will also be presented to the Board of Public Works on Wednesday, May 3 at 4:30PM in Room 108 of the City-County Building. Final approval of the test is scheduled for Common Council on the May 16 Meeting at 6:30, Room 201 of the City-County Building.

A Public Information Meeting was held on Tuesday February 21, 2017. The presentation and plans can be found below. At this meeting, the project was presented with a proposed widened sidewalk on the south side while maintaining the existing travel and parking lanes.
