University Avenue (Segoe Road to Shorewood Boulevard)
Planned work for the week starting Monday July 26, 2010.
Traffic
• Rose Place (Midvale to the North) will be closed between University Ave. and Locust Dr. from July 27th through August 10th.
o Westbound University Ave. traffic to Locust Dr. will need to make a right turn at Shorewood Blvd., Joyce Erdman Pl., or the Highbury Rd. intersection.
o Eastbound University Ave. traffic to Locust Dr. will need to make a left turn at Joyce Erdman Blvd. or the Shorewood Blvd. intersection.
• The project will maintain two lanes of traffic in both directions on University Avenue from 6 AM to 9 AM and from 3 PM to 6 PM (Peak Periods).
• Occasional single lane closures will occur from 6 PM to 6 AM and from 9 AM to 3 PM (Off Peak).
Businesses
• Businesses on University Avenue have access by right turns from University Avenue, right turns onto surrounding streets, or left turns at signalized intersections.
Pedestrians
• Bus stops will be maintained for eastbound and westbound University Avenue at the Shorewood, Midvale, and Segoe intersections. The Blackhawk intersection westbound bus stop is closed. The Blackhawk intersection eastbound bus stop is open. The University Ave. crosswalk at the Blackhawk intersection is closed.

University Avenue (Campus Drive Intersection): Work is scheduled May 17 to August 20. The construction project will include replacement of utilities as well as all lanes of pavement.

University Avenue (Randall Avenue - Campus Drive): Traffic will be reduced to two travel lanes during peak commuting times. Traffic may be reduced to one travel lane during other times of the day.

University Avenue (Breese Terrace - Campus Drive): Traffic will be reduced to one travel lane in each direction at all times.

Campus Drive (eastbound: University Avenue - Randall Avenue): Traffic will be reduced to two travel lanes during peak commuting times. Traffic may be reduced to one travel lane during other times of the day.

Breese Terrace (University Avenue Intersection): Breese Terrace will be closed at University Avenue for the duration of the project.

Delays are expected during peak commuting times on both University Avenue and Campus Drive for the duration of this project. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during the construction project.

Access to all businesses as well as City of Madison parking ramps and lots will be maintained at all times during the construction project.

University Avenue (Park Street Intersection): Work is scheduled May 17 to August 13. The project will include replacement of City utilities and UW facilities as well as all lanes of pavement.

University Avenue (Lake Street to Brooks Street): Traffic will be reduced to two lanes of traffic at all times. Westbound bicycle traffic will be detoured at Lake Street southbound to Dayton Street. Eastbound bicycle contra flow lane will be detoured to Dayton Street.

Park Street (Johnson Street to University Avenue): Detours will be provided for southbound Park Street and traffic using Park Street to go westbound on University Avenue.

Delays are expected during peak commuting times on both University Avenue and Park Street for the duration of this project, which expected to last until the end of August. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during the construction project.

PROJECT

The University Avenue Corridor is undergoing a 3 year program to replace infrastructure. The project includes replacing, pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalk as necessary, water, storm and sanitary systems, and lighting. Please see various segments on the left for more details.
