UPDATE
Starting May 28:  To facilitate the construction of the tunneling process and building access structures, inbound Campus Dr will be closed to one lane near Walnut St. The two outbound lanes on Campus Dr will be maintained at all times.

Severe congestion is expected during the lane closure for peak traffic hours, and motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes to avoid delay during this project.

The contractor is excavating the access structures for the tunneling operation.

Walnut St is currently closed between University Ave & Campus Dr.

Highland Ave westbound lanes are closed.  There will be one lane of traffic in each direction between University Ave and Campus Dr in the northbound lanes.

The University Avenue Corridor will be undergoing various states of reconstruction from Allen Blvd. to State St.  The project is scheduled to begin in 2009 and last through 2012.  The pavement throughout this corridor is rated in very poor condition.  While the pavement is being repaired, the City will be repairing many sewer and water pipes under the ground that date back to the late 1800's and early 1900's.
