MFD Thanks Our Veterans This Memorial Day

Flags at all 13 fire stations will be flown at half mast this Monday as we remember and honor the valiant men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our country. This Memorial Day weekend, we also honor and thank those who continue to serve in the United States military.
 
There are 1,473,900 men and women currently on active duty in the United States. Of the Madison Fire Department’s 385 employees, over 10% are prior or current members of the various branches of the U.S. Department of Defense.
 
We wish to recognize and show our appreciation for the chiefs, firefighters, paramedics, and civilian employees who have served, or continue to serve, our country:
