Engine 10 Sent To Repeated Fires In Northside Pedestrian Tunnel
Engine Company 10 responded twice over the course of an hour to a pedestrian tunnel near Troy Drive and School Road late Saturday night, finding a pile of clothes on fire in both instances.
The first call came in at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, July 7, when firefighters found a small fire in an entrance to the tunnel. The crew extinguished the fire and looked around for witnesses but could not locate anybody with information about the fire.
At 12:27 a.m. Sunday, July 8, Engine 10 was called back for the same issue. Once again, firefighters could not locate the person(s) starting the fires or any eyewitnesses.
Madison Police officers were called in to initiate a case and increase patrols in the area as resources allowed. There were no other calls to the area after the second incident.
