Fire destroyed a repair shop at Homburg Construction on December 13.
Damage is estimated at $300,000. Water was supplied by relay
pumping from a fire hydrant one-half mile away and water tankers
from five neighboring fire departments.

On June 20, the Madison Fire Department responded
to a car that crashed through a home on Rustic Ridge Court.
There were no injuries due to the crash, however there was extensive
damage to the house.

Members of the Madison Fire Department's Heavy
Urban Rescue Team used structural supports called struts to
temporarily support the home's floor. This provided the extra
reinforcement the floor needed to support the additional weight of
the car.

Once the struts were in place, a local towing
company pulled the car out of the house through the initial point of
entry. The car crashed through the front wall, traveled across
the house and came to rest in the sunroom at the rear of the home.
