Who is Eligible for CDA Multifamily Housing?Multifamily Housing is limited to low-income families and individuals. The CDA determines your eligibility based on:
The CDA will also check your references, examine your credit history, and conduct a complete criminal background check to make sure you and your family will be good tenants. The CDA will deny admission to any applicant whose habits and practices may be expected to have a detrimental effect on other tenants or on the project’s environment. How Is Rent Determined?
Rent is based on your family’s anticipated gross annual income. Residents pay 30% of their income, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) pays the rest. Listed below are income limits for the CDA's Multifamily Housing Program (effective 12/11/2012):

These estimated wait times are most accurate for applicants who provide documentation that they live, work, or go to school in the City of Madison. Applicants will be notified by mail when the CDA is ready to screen their application. Waiting list applicants are required to report changes, in writing, of mailing address, phone number, gross monthly income, and family composition.
