Program Format:
The last two weeks, while on the course, the instructor will be with you on the course to explain what you should and should not do. The Monona Beginning Junior Group Lesson Program is designed for the beginning junior golfer, 15 years and under. The program will take them through all aspects of the game of golf; from their swing to the proper etiquette of the game. The beginner golfer will also learn some of the rules, equipment, fee structure, tee time policies, range programs for practice, and last but not least, how to play the game. The participants will have lots of fun and will be hooked on golf, a game of a lifetime! Sign up your child today with our staff in the Golf Shop. The primary goal of the 8-week junior program is to develop lifelong golfers, who will learn a deep appreciation and respect for the game of golf. Monona Golf Course’s Junior League Program will reinforce the positive aspects of the game, such as, honesty, integrity, self-discipline and patience. The number of junior players, committed to the game, long after they complete our program, will show the success of our program. Program Options:
Program Format: 18-hole program is designed for the more established junior player who wishes to test their skills in a competitive format. Two years experience and a fairly good understanding of the basic rules of golf are a must. 9-hole programs are for the junior golfer 9yrs. old and up who have had previous golf experience, such as the junior lesson program. They should also have an understanding of golf etiquette and be able to handle themselves appropriately on the course with minimum supervision. The program is 8 weeks long and will be broken into 4 groups (A - B - C- D), with10 to 12 students in each group. The first 4 weeks the juniors will receive a 1-hour group lesson before play concentrating on the full golf swing, chipping and putting, etiquette and common U.S.G.A. rules. The second 4 weeks the juniors will be teamed together for some team competition. Lunch is included each week after play. This is a good time for the players to get to know one another and to make some new friends. League Cost: 9 Hole Monday and Friday Leagues $135.00* 18 Hole Wednesday League $155.00*, (Visa and Master card are accepted for payment but must be done in person.) * Important Notice: Green fees are included in the league registration fee. However, we recommend that all juniors purchase the City of Madison Summer Junior Pass for only $119.00 or Junior Season Pass for $229.00. This pass will be accepted during non-league play weekdays before 2:00pm and after 2:00pm weekends and Holidays. The Passes may be purchased at Monona Golf Course, Yahara Hills Golf Course or Odana Golf Course. Please bring the pass to the first day of the program.
