5, 2002 The
United States Geological Survey will not complete confirmatory testing
on the Madison crow reported as presumptively positive for West Nile
Virus until 8/7/02 at the earliest.
Madison Department of Public Health will release the confirmatory
test results as soon as they are available.
A
second bird found in Madison has also tested presumptively positive.
This bird was found on 7/30/02; Madison Department of Public
Health does not know where this second bird was found.
Madison Department of Public Health will release confirmatory
testing results for this bird as soon as they are available. No
mosquitoes in Madison have tested positive for West Nile Virus, and
there have been no human cases in Wisconsin.
People should take measures to prevent mosquito bites and
