Congratulations!! Many of Madison’s older homes are great investments and wonderful places to live and raise a family. But with these benefits comes the risk of lead hazards. Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint that can be a health hazard, especially for children younger than 6 years old.

Learn about preventing lead hazards and avoiding exposure to lead in your home by attending a workshop held by the Madison Department of Public Health. In our workshop, we’ll talk about "Lead-safe" methods of home repair and renovation that are practical and low cost. You’ll also learn when it’s best to call in a professional. Live demonstrations will help further explain the "Lead-safe" concepts discussed.
