LAST DAY OF THE 2004 CLEAN SWEEP SEASON IS OCTOBER 30TH
MADISON, WI-The Clean Sweep Program for recycling household hazardous waste and Product Exchange Program will end the 2004 seasons on Saturday, October 30. The Clean Sweep Program provides an opportunity for residents of Dane County to safely dispose of hazardous materials free of charge. Items that can be dropped off at Clean Sweep include oil based paints, pesticides, poisons, household products containing organic solvents, ignitable, aerosols, and rechargeable batteries. Product Exchange is a free program that allows residents to take the high quality and usable products dropped off at Clean Sweep.
Business owners are reminded that the last day for the Small Business Collection Program is Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Please allow enough time before the last collection to request registration materials and to submit an inventory of the materials for recycling. Registration is available on the Clean Sweep website at www.danecountycleansweep.com or by calling Dave Radisewitz, the Clean Sweep Coordinator, at 294-5358.
Normal hours of operation are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The site is located at 2302 Fish Hatchery Road in Madison, on the corner of Fish Hatchery and Badger Roads. Please remember that leaving materials at the site when it is closed is illegal and can lead to a $2000 fine. The Clean Sweep site will reopen May 3, 2005.
