Imagine Madison is an initiative by Mayor Dave Cieslewicz to engage the citizens of Madison in a discussion about the shape our city should take in the years to come. The initiative is timed to coincide with Madison’s upcoming sesquicentennial celebration in 2006. While the sesquicentennial is an opportunity to celebrate the past 150 years of city history, it is also an appropriate time to consider how the city will grow and change in the future.

Imagine Madison is a way of thinking about what Madison is, and our aspirations for what it
should become in the future. Madison has done great things in the last 150 years. The decisions
we make, the priorities we set today are going to shape our city and our neighborhoods for the
next 150 years, and beyond.
