Officers located the victim, who was lying halfway between the gutter and the street. He told officers he had met up with an acquaintance at a nearby restaurant, and that the two men who battered him had arrived with the acquaintance. The assailants stole his cell phone, money, and a necklace. He was transported to a hospital complaining of neck and back pain. He seemed to know the men who attacked him, but not by their full names.
