On Saturday afternoon, around 5:19 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted Madison Police after seeing a man walking toward State Street with a holstered gun on his hip. He was located and stopped. He explained he was making a political statement by walking around with a loaded gun, as he believes law-abiding citizens should be able to openly carry firearms. He was told his actions disturbed other citizens, and that is why he was being cited for disorderly conduct. An officer drove the man to his residence so he could put the gun away. |
