Early Sunday morning, a 27-year old Madison man returned to his apartment to find a burglar coming out. The suspect had a bandana over his face, and was carrying a backpack. The victim told him to sit down, that police were being called. The burglar complied and waited for police. He told an officer he entered the apartment because it was unlocked, but that he did not steal anything - apparently because the resident came home. In the suspect's backpack were a number of small electronics, including a couple of iPod Touch units. It also contained multiple Xbox video games. The suspect said he stole most items in a different burglary near campus where he had found another apartment door unlocked. He was carrying a 7 1/2 inch folding knife in a pocket, and there was a marijuana pipe in the backpack. |
