On Friday morning, around 11:16 a.m., Madison Police temporarily blocked West Wilson Street near Broom Street after a man placed a suspicious looking device on top of a traffic cone, which was in the roadway. The pipe like device had some type of electronic component inside of it, and Madison Police consulted with the Dane County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad before determining it was not an explosive device. The 45-year old man who placed the item on the cone is currently in police custody and being evaluated. He has not been arrested. |
