Thanks to the work of the Brotherhood group, community leader Katy Farrens and Madison Parks the Allied Drive area will soon have its own park. I was happy to be included at yesterday's groundbreaking ceremony. Joined by Parks Superintendent Eric Knepp, Alder Maurice Cheeks and Parks Commission President David Wallner and many other local community leaders, the soon-to-be park had ground officially broken.
The Brotherhood group, with some of the members pictured above was really one of the big driving forces behind this park. Working with Katy Farrens they collaborated with the City and City Parks in helping to design the park which will include a full-sized basketball court and free WiFi. It will be great to see their hard work pay off and I look forward to the ribbon cutting.
